QA TECHNICIAN (RM)/FORKLIFT OPERATOR -MARKED TREE, Arkansas
General Definition
Under general supervision, inspects and tests the quality and “state of cure” of all parts produced on the mold line and in the trimming areas. Process includes generation of all documents relative to the molded part as directed by immediate supervisor to ensure production
and shipping of quality plastic products (i.e. tanks, and other containment vessels.) In addition as forklift operator, loads plastic tanks, steel components, and/or related parts and equipment as directed by immediate Supervisor to efficiently and safely ship quality plastic
products.
Essential Duties
• Inspect all parts produced for quality defects and workmanship errors.
• Monitor the operation of the machines to verify correct powder weight, cycle times and temperatures are being used.
• Responsible to halt production when quality of the product falls below prescribed company standards.
• Examine run packet for each part and ensure conformity with machine specifications.
• Perform elementary “state of cure” tests (i.e. impact resistance, gel, drop dart, sieve and flowability) and part thickness tests (audits) as required.
• Generate all paperwork and documentation required on each molded part to ensure company standards and accountability.
• Operate bar code equipment and QA computer.
• Evaluate all returned goods to determine status, if defective, evaluate for cause and possible cure.
• Coordinate, conduct and verify Quality Control Testing performed in laboratory as well as any special testing required.
• Safety is a priority of this position.
• Clean and straighten plant grounds, tank fields and seconds field.
• Check with Supervisor for load sheets, priority of orders, tanks to be loaded and locations of trailers to be loaded.
• Move tanks from production to holding areas (i. e. tank field, seconds field, warehouses, etc.)
• Clean trailers (i. e. sweep out, pull nails, etc.) and load trailers insuring all required materials (i. e. tanks, fittings, steel, etc. ) are included and properly stacked for transport.
• Recheck count to ensure correct materials are on trailers.
• Responsible for property loading of tanks and accessories in both box and flat rail cars at the two loading sites.
• Perform other duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of various Quality Control theories and practices, inspection testing equipment (i.e. calipers, micrometers, panametrics, bar code scanners, computers, etc.), their usage and appropriate documentation is required. Must be able to make objective judgments from visual
inspections, interpret specific test results, analyze moderately complex situations and read and interpret blueprints.. This position requires frequently lifting or moving material weighing 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. and occasionally lifting or moving material weighing up to 70 lbs.
with the assistance of another employee or using material handling equipment.
Will also require knowledge of various loading techniques, shipping procedures and forklift operations is preferred. Must be able to operate rough terrain forklifts. Must be able to read, write, and compute basic mathematics (i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication, etc.)
An average degree of manual skills (i.e. sweeping, using hammers, forklifts, etc.) and a considerable amount of physical effort is required. A high school diploma or GED equivalent and previous related experience of 1 to 3 years in a manufacturing shipping, construction or
agricultural working environment is required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Somewhat undesirable working conditions. May be exposed to noise, resin, vapors, external elements (i.e. heat, cold, rain, snow, and other elements etc.) with several present to the extent of being undesirable and usually more than one at a time).
